Ophthalmology

Ophthalmologists specialize in comprehensive eye and vision care. They are trained in the prevention, diagnosis, and in the medical and surgical care of eye conditions and diseases. They perform routine eye exams, prescribe eyeglasses and contacts, provide medical care for diseases of the eye like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and retinal and corneal diseases, perform surgery for conditions such as cataracts, crossed eyes, trauma and other problems, and perform plastic surgery for drooping eyelids, upper and lower eyelid repair or brow lifts.
